Last year was also a dragon and a ship, although I didn't realize this until now. Either this means I'm pretty unoriginal, or my subconscious had a theme in mind. I prefer the latter explanation.

Wonder where the ship will go next year... hopefully it won't run aground. ^^;

*Finally starting to use Photoshop, yay! Though I miss the color wheel on SAI.
Critique away, hurt my feelings ~ I kind of deserve it for not doing art for so long. Just as long as you tell me exactly why it sucks, it's cool with me.

Music: Swedish House Mafia, MelodySheep
Photoshop CS5
Brushes: *jamajurabaev *RHADS
References: for ship; very minimally for rocks (should've used more)

First off, i loveeeeee this so much man, its really epic! I'm jealous bro of your skills.
The way you used yellow colors and everything! The focus on the dragon and the ship is really good.

Now, what is bothering me with this picture is the dragons hind legs, i only see one i think and it looks weird Vs the rest of the dragons detailedness. ( you can ignore the rest of this critic from here ass I'm trying to meat the 100 word minimum)

I cant say any thing bad about the ship its really good.

The rocks look nice too, i am having a problem understanding towards the right in the back It looks kinda like a waterfall but it could be just a canyon type thing (its not really notice able, its just that I've been looking at this picture for a while while criticizing.
What do you think?

Why would people want to hurt your feelings? :P
If you really want a critique, the only thing I have is that the colors are a bit too harmonious - I would love to see some more contrast and splashes of more exciting colors. Otherwise, I really like the overall feeling of motion in this picture and the blending between the mountains and the sky.

Aww, your critique is always dead-on. (Unfortunately, I think you know the picture I'm working on also has a palette that's a bit too harmonious. ^^;) More realistic or screencap studies need to be done after. Thanks for the encouragement!

No problem :) and you are flattering me. My critiques are definitely NOT always dead-on.

Oh, this is beautiful o.o I like dragons very much, and ships are somehow... romantic, but not in a love-kind of way romantic : D It's just wonderful to think where the ship could take you, and also the symbolism of it. I'm sorry I can't give you any critique, but I'll give you a favourite (:

Haven't heard from you in a long while! Hope you've been doing well, and thank you for the comment. ^^

You're welcome! Oh, I haven't really spent time in dA. You might have noticed that I haven't updated anything new for a while (: I still like to watch other people's art a lot, I still follow yours!

I hope you're doing well, too (: keep creating art, I'm always keen to see your new creations!

Why does this suddenly remind me of the classic Moby Dick? Instead of Ahab chasing a whale, he chases a dragon named Moby Dick? Dragon hunting, anyone? All in all, simply fantastical work.

Oh no! I hope they're not hunting the dragon... good literary parallel, but maybe the crew and the dragon can be buddies instead? :O
